Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
I’m a curious, knowledge-thirsty occultist revisiting Western Esotericism after a long period of neglect and disenchantment (see also: my teenage years [edit: see also: huge chunks of time in my 20’s]). I’m hoping to achieve a better understanding of different magical paradigms like chaos magick, voudon, and traditional ceremonial magick. A large portion of my research will be dedicated to meditation, ritual, trance and other methods of self exploration.
Outside of my esoteric research, I’m a student. I just finished my Bachelor’s in psychology and will start graduate school in the Fall. I’m fascinated by the processes of cognition and memory and look forward to formulating studies of my own. I also enjoy reading about philosophy, eastern religions, and quantum physics.
About the Blog
My blog is called “Ouroboros Electric” for a few reasons. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the ouroboros – it symbolizes rebirth and constant change through regeneration, much like the phoenix. Also, as a snake it represents the knowledge imparted to Adam and Eve, that initial taste of the gnosis. I added “electric” to the end, because I feel electricity is a key element of the new aeon – we use it to power so much of our daily lives, including the laptop on which I author this blog. In addition to that, I think electricity captures the sort of constant change and regeneration I want this blog to embody. My beliefs constantly change and adapt as I learn, and this blog reflect that – an electric circle perpetually consuming itself to create itself anew.
Also, I noticed recently that merging the name – ouroboroselectric – reveals my middle name, Rose, right in the center. I was pretty pleased to see that, given that I didn’t even do it on purpose.
Why do I bother? Because I think much of the information I come across in my esoteric studies is more than worth sharing. The common threads throughout the esoteric disciplines deserve perpetuating – the microcosm/macrocosm, the True Will, the law of Correspondence, chaos theory, the Tree of Life – and more.
Love is the law, love under Will!
